Le Junk has an impressive ability to mix and mash genres. His latest track, ‘America’, is no different. A groovy bassline interacts with his whispered vocal and some subtle finger snaps, but nostalgic synths burst out from the otherwise thin texture for an addictive hook. He manages to create something eerie and uneasy, yet danceable. “’America’ is about the fears and tensions of modern life, using America as the poster child of the West to depict a nightmare of violent crime and prescription drug abuse, neglected by consumerism and political denial,” he explains.
